Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,
It is with great excitement that I am able to announce that Kanye West has selected Virginia Union University to be one of the exclusive locations to stream the live viewing party for his new album, DONDA. The album debut concert will be held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA. VUU will host a live stream of the party on campus TONIGHT. The album, DONDA, is named for his late mother, Dr. Donda West, an alumnus of VUU. Dr. West graduated from VUU in 1971, with a BA in English. She went on to obtain her masters, and later her PHD, in English and teach at Chicago State University. Recognizing his mother’s love of education and her close ties to VUU, Kanye West has chosen our campus to be one of a select few locations around the globe hosting viewing parties of his first live performance of DONDA. The viewing party will be hosted outside of Barco Hall starting at 7pm ET. The event is exclusive to VUU students, faculty, and staff. Enjoy this little piece of history and GO PANTHERS!!
